One in, One Out

Luca Antonelli

IN: Luca Antonelli

Davide Matteini

OUT: Davide Matteini

Today is January 31st, which means the last day of the transfer window. This also means that all the sporting directors of Italian clubs were at the ATAHotel Quark in Milan since the early hours of the morning scrambling to make last minute deals.

Gialloblu’ directors were there to, and we made 2 deals today before the window closed at 7 PM Italian time.

Arriving to the Tardini will be Luca Antonelli, a 19 year old left back who can also play center back and is owned by Milan. He is also an Italy U-20 regular. Milan loaned him to Bari of Serie B this summer, but he impressed many during his stint in Puglia (17 appearances, 1 goal), that he was snapped up today by us. He arrives on loan from Milan with the option to buy at the end of the season. Considering how our defenders are always injured or suspended, this is a good move because he is a good young prospect that is versatile and be useful to our cause.

Leaving Parma will be versatile midfielder Davide Matteini, who wanted more playing time and with Pisanu, Reginaldo, and Gasbarroni all ahead of him in the pecking order, it’s a good time for him to leave. He did score a nice goal against Siena, but he isn’t really needed. He’s going on loan to struggling Serie B club Vicenza, where he will try to lift the Veneto club out of the relegation zone.

Napoli wanted two of our players today. They asked us for Cigarini, making a 10 million euro bid. We said no. (Thank God!!!) Then they asked us for Francesco Parravicini. We said no.

Then we sent young promising midfielder Niccolo Galli to Serie C1 side Massese on loan for the rest of the season.

Other than that we didn’t do anything else today. Our transfer market is closed until June.

Friendly Match

We played a friendly match yesterday against an amateur side called US Sale. We ran out 13-0 winners, with Corradi scoring a hat trick, Budan scoring 4 goals, and Cigarini, Reginaldo, and Gasbarroni all on the score sheet as well.

Our youth side won 3-0 against Benevento in the first match of the group stage. Here’s the match report:
