Breaking News: Di Carlo Sacked!
By: Francesco | March 10th, 2008Domenico Di Carlo has officially been let go by Lord of Prosciutto (a little late don’t you think). The loss to Sampdoria was the last straw. Candidates being mentioned to take over are Carletto Mazzone, Alberto Zaccheroni, Gianni De Biasi, and Nevio Scala (who was in the stands at the Tardini yesterday).
The loss to Sampdoria was a match where nothing went right. First of all, Di Carlo again started a one striker formation in a game that he had to win, and it has been obvious that Parma has played much better when 2 strikers are on the pitch. (When Budan came on to help Lucarelli yesterday Parma came to life.) Gasbarroni missed a penalty, and it was there that I knew they would not win. Budan grabbed a consolation goal.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Gigi Simoni has also entered the race to become the next manager. An announcement should be made tonight or at the latest tomorrow.

Di Carlo was one of the coolest guys on the bench ever, but it’s really time for him to go. I hope he’ll do better elsewhere

Yeah Miguel Di Carlo was cool on th bench.
I don’t know much about him, or his tactics, but I like him. Don’t ask me why.

I would like Scala, seeing as he knows the environment and he’s a fan favorite. However latest news is that ex-Valencia and Inter boss Hector Cuper is really close to signing. He hasn’t really done great since leaving Inter but he was a top manager back in the day and may do well, but will he do well with only 11 games left? It remains to be seen.

Parma is a team with a lot of sleeping potential, but unless another Parmalat-like sponsor emerges, there’s no way that our favourite 90’s era would come back.
