Roma-Parma, the Curse of the Olimpico continues

Can’t say I didn’t call this one. Since June 17, 2001, Parma never do well at the Olimpico, and Totti loves to score against us. More after the jump.

Highlights:

Alright, first, Di Carlo went out with a surprise line-up, like I said, never trust the predicted line-ups. Budan up front instead of Lucarelli, Zenoni instead of Pisanu in midfield (which was a real surprise).

Second, there’s nothing I can really say about this that would be of any praise to the Gialloblu’.

1st Goal- Bucci makes a rare error, Aquilani easily puts it in.

2nd Goal- What are you doing Giulio Falcone? Tries to impress the Olimpico with a bicycle kick clearance, yet he impresses them with a nice bicycle kick own goal…

3rd Goal- Francesco Totti scores against us. What else can you say. And it was a real golazzo. Classic Totti goal- all power and precision.

4th Goal- 90th minute, we gave up, another mistake at the back gifts Vucinic with a goal.

This is just one of those games you forget, and move on. Roma killed us, we have to put it past us and just look forward to the next game. Man of the Match for the Gialloblu’ was Gasbarroni, who really did all he could and played his heart out. Questions can be asked as to why Di Carlo preferred to start with Lucarelli on the bench, or why Andrea Pisanu, probably our most consistent performer all season, was sitting on the bench to start as well. But let’s not talk about that, that will only get me mad.

Next up is a home game against Sampdoria (who will be without Cassano, which is better for us).
