Random Parma Video 9- Giuseppe Rossi

All this talk of Giuseppe Rossi in recent days (man of the match vs. Holland with the U21 side, all the talk of why Donadoni isn’t calling him up, doing so well in La Liga with Villareal, a possible return to Serie A this summer) makes me remember last season, when a 20 year old kid born in New Jersey came on loan in the January transfer market and turned around what looked like a lost cause and led Parma to a brilliant salvezza. Giuseppe Rossi was our property for 3 years, before Manchester United stepped in at a time when the Parma front office was in shambles and took Rossi off our hands rather easily in 2004 at the age of 16. (The fee was reportedly somewhere around 200,000 euro, which is a steal). Well, now that Rossi is on his way to becoming Italy’s next great striker, it’s nice to know that Parma discovered him, raised him for 3 years, and helped him further his reputation as a future superstar for 6 months in 2007. Here are all 9 goals Rossi scored for the Gialloblu in his 6 month stay:
