Random Parma Video 8- Parma’s Anthem

Of course everyone knows Liverpool’s “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, but in Italy most of the anthems are played before games and if you’re watching on TV you don’t really hear them. Inter has Pazza Inter, sung by the Inter squad and it was created during Inter’s crazy years, hence the name. Roma fans sing Antonello Venditti’s classic “Roma Roma Roma”, while Juventus decided to update their old song with a more modern tune, and Milan are still living in the 80’s with theirs. The rest of the teams all have anthems, and can be found on youtube by simply searching “Inno [Insert Team Name Here]“. Which brings us to Parma.
Parma’s is called “Il Grido di Battaglia” (The Battlecry) and is very old and has very old style tune to it, but it’s catchy. (much like the one of Fiorentina)

I dont remember hearing this when I went to the Tardini for the Siena game last season. They played “Triumphant March from Aida” by Verdi beforehand and everyone in the Curva sang along passionately. I assumed that was the main anthem associated with the club but I guess I was wrong, cheers for the info Francesco. Its very charming but I still prefer the anthem of my team and half of my city You’ll Never Walk Alone
which incidentally I was delighted to see on one of the “Boys Parma” flags at the front of the Curva Nord.Posted from
